Haikus are one of my favorite forms of poetry, ever since I received a book of them one Christmas. This book describes the haiku as "a lightly sketched picture the reader is expected to fill in from his own memories." All of you have done a masterful job of doing just that. Loving, learning, and hoping are things all of us share, and since I'm an English teacher, I can hardly wait to read your poems with my class tomorrow. In fact, we developed our own take-offs on haiku poetry. One is called prime poetry (for prime numbers) with 3, 5, and 7 syllables to a line. The other is called progressive poetry (because of the progression of numbers) with 7, 8, and 9 syllables to a line. Maybe you'd like to try these out! And to those who wrote the 6 word stories, AMAZING! Think I'll try that one with my kids, too. Congratulations on such great creativity to you all.

I am extremely pleased to hear of achievements from the Reach Tutorial Program, especially when it involves my daughter, Dana. Reach provides the tutors and students an opportunity to experience success. Dana’s willingness to except the challenge of a special needs student is commendable. Thanks to the guidance of Mr. Mark & Ms. Julie both the student and Dana will REACH their goals and rise above society’s obstacles.

We are incredibly proud of you : - ) Dana
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

This was a wonderful article to read as it focused upon students making a difference for one another. Some people in life are dealt a hand which may slow them down in life. For Dana to recognize this challenge in an individual while stepping up to be apart of the solution, shows her knack for leadership and change.

Dana is my cousin and I had a feeling that she would be good at this task. Dana is always working with kids especially with family members who might be having some problems. I am so proud of her and to read this about her.

Way to go cousin.

Brilliant post. And your 3rd fact definitely raised my eyebrows. With this belief being held by myself and by others I work with, we've produced what we believe are the 11 essential elements of habit, mind and character. And being able to bubble in scantrons wasn't on the list of characteristics we want transformative, ethical citizens of the world to have (as an essential). I'd love to share with you and get your feedback. Keep up the phenomenal & genuine work. And P.S.--Andrade is the man.
