Jennifer Cartland, Ed. D.
Dr. Jennifer Cartland is a career educator and motivational leader. She has led teams, schools, and non-profits, and has worked to drive change for youth and youth-serving organizations. Dr. Cartland believes in the power of process to drive results and is skilled at planning strategically to guide organizational transformation. Cartland earned a bachelor’s degree from Catholic University in Washington, DC, a master’s degree from The George Washington University and a doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania.
Cartland’s volunteer efforts include the Hill Center at the Old Naval Hospital, where she is the Vice President of the board of directors, and Programs Chair of the board of FRESHFARM, where family nutrition and health, and food access and equity are the points of focus. In addition to work with Reach, Cartland consults with Special Olympics North America’s Unified Champion Schools®, to amplify the power of sports, leadership, and inclusive activities for youth with and without intellectual disabilities.
Director of Development
Nadia has joined the team to oversee fundraising initiatives for Reach Incorporated. She grew up in Maryland and attended Salisbury University. Nadia has worked for a few nonprofit organizations in the DC area including Greater DC Diaper Bank, Martha’s Table, and Junior Achievement. She also spent several years in New York City working with The Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Foundation, Inc., where she worked on the $100 million campaign to build the Statue of Liberty Museum on Liberty Island. Over the last twelve years, she has worked in many different avenues of fundraising including major gifts, grants, special events, crowdfunding, and direct response. She’s currently living in Rockville with her two daughters Zoe and Soraya, her husband Joel, and their dog Appa.
With skills in strategic planning, business development, risk management, and nonprofit growth, our Board of Directors’ diverse backgrounds play a key role at Reach. Their dedication and efforts help us plan and sustain growth in our organization and surrounding community.
