CULTIVATE READERS. EMPOWER LEADERS.

OUR CHALLENGE

By third grade, more than half of public school students in Washington, D.C., have fallen behind in reading. When those students enter ninth grade, a full 80 percent don’t read at grade level. At Reach Incorporated, we work to change that story.

OUR OPPORTUNITY

We recruit, train, and hire teens experiencing social and academic challenges to serve as tutors for elementary school students facing challenges of their own. The result is improved literacy for both the students and their tutors.

OUR PROGRAMS

Over the past 10 years, we’ve worked with more than 700 participants through four programs designed to develop confident readers and capable leaders.
